Rugunda: Opposition, Govt Should Listen to  Each Other

Uganda’s Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has told the national consultative forum for political parties and political organizations in the Kigezi sub-region that all political parties should exercise tolerance if they are to get government’s attention.

The forum, organised by Uganda’s Electoral Commission, happened in Kabale Town in south-western Uganda on Monday.

It was held under the theme: “Exercising political maturity under a multi-party political dispensation”.

Rugunda, who is also the chairperson of the national consultative forum for political parties and political organizations, explained that tolerance was the best way to solve the disagreements between government and opposition.

“Political tolerance is not the responsibility of one man, but everyone,” the premier said.

“The opposition side also need to be willing to listen to government. That is the starting point to ironing out our differences.”
