New Iganga Woman MP’s Baby “Kaguta” Dead

Newly elected Iganga Woman MP Brenda Asinde Suubi is in mourning following the death of her 3-weeks-old baby, Kaguta Wahab, who she named after President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Baby Kaguta, who was born a fortnight to the Iganga Woman MP by-election, died on Tuesday morning at Rubaga Hospital in Kampala.

Speaking to this website, a source close to the newly elected MP blamed the baby’s death on lack of proper care.

“MP Asinde, was up and down campaigning even before she gave birth, I suspect it could have caused some complications. Even after giving birth, she spent most of her time in campaigns, giving less attention to the baby,” said the source who preferred anonymity in order to speak freely.

It will be remembered that President Museveni had met young Kaguta last week while campaigning for MP Asinde in Iganga ahead of the by-election.

Burial is to be held on Tuesday afternoon in Busei, Iganga District.
