Bobi Wine Arrested for ‘Jumping’ Bond Conditions

Kyadondo East Member of Parliament and singer Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has been arrested this afternoon after grenades were thrown at his residence on Tuesday morning, destroying property.

Bobi Wine was in the company of fellow suspended opposition MPs Moses Kasibante and Ssemujju Nganda when they were blocked by police as they left Gayaza.

The MPs were heading to Makindye to visit fellow legislator Allan Ssewanyana, whose home was also attacked with grenades.

They were then put into a waiting Police van and whisked to Naggalama Police Station.

This according to Kampala Metropolitan Police commander Frank Mwesigwa the MPs were arrested for jumping bond conditions following last week’s Parliament Age Limit scuffle.

“We have detained the MPs for jumping police bond. They were supposed to report to CID headquarters as per the conditions set upon their release but they did not show,” Mwesigwa said.

We shall keep you posted.
