2 Pupils Injured in Explosion at Mother Care Bright school

Two pupils have been injured in an explosion that occurred at Mother Care Bright school Maganjo on Thursday morning.

According to Police, the explosion occured in the Primary seven class room of the school at around 7:30AM.

The two pupils identified as Igembe Ashraf, 13, and Namakula Ronitah, 13, years, who were injured, were rushed to mulago hospital for treatment.

“The boy’s hand was shattered as a result of the explosion and the girl’s eye is slightly injured , the cause was as a result of playing with an unidentified item which is yet to be established by Police Experts from Bomb squard,” Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire said in a statement.

“We have also established that the unidentified object was brought into the school by kasoozi Abdul 12 years , also a pupil after he picked it yesterday on his way home the later carried it to school today,” he added.

Police experts have picked the fragments for further analysis and investigation.
