Coffee Tourism Uganda in collaboration with Ministry of Agriculture is set to host the first ever Coffee Tourism expo, The Tower Post reports.
The 3-day expo which will be held at the Kampala Serena will run from 14th to 16th December, 2018.
According to the organizers, the expo will be held under the theme “Unlocking Uganda’s coffee industry potential.”
It will bring together key stakeholders in the coffee and tourism industry to discuss key issues concerning cash crops and the strategies of making it a success.
Coffee contributes around 24% of Uganda’s total export earnings, making it a biggest third foreign exchange earner according to the sector regulators (UCDA).
On the other hand, tourism contributes 10% to Uganda GDP.
African coffee industry will provide an opportunity to promote to internal buyers.
Uganda coffee Ishaka Chairperson Luwenga said that they are working with UCDA and UTB to select the farms that will show case Uganda farmers coffee industry.
Delegates have started jetting in the country.
