The vice chancellor search committee has recommended Prof Barnabas Nawangwe for the job of Makerere University top job.
According to the committee report released Wednesday, Prof Nawangwe, a professor of architecture and the hitherto Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Finance and administration, was ranked ahead of College of Humanities and Social Sciences (Chuss) principal Prof Edward Kirumira, and ex-vice chancellor and presidential candidate Prof Venansious Baryamureeba .
The search committee described all the trio as “suitable candidates, who the university senate should find suitable for the job”.
The committee report will now submit their report to the University Council which will pick one of the three professors.
Council’s pick will replace Prof John Ddumba-Sentamu as vice chancellor.
