MTN Uganda has announced that its integrated marketing and communication function will, with effect from July 1 2017, be taken over by TBWA, following successful completion of a transition process from its former agency Metropolitan Republic.
TBWA is part of the Omnicom Group that was recently appointed by MTN as the GroupâsIntegrated Marketing Communications agency; and is in the process of carrying out a similar transition to support MTNâs business in all markets where it has a presence.
The agency changeover follows a rigorous evaluation process, which began in March 2016, when six major global agency networks were invited to tender.
Omnicom was selected based on having met the functional and commercial requirements which included scope of work, industry and geographic track record, proposed resource capabilities(including footprint, team and transformation agenda), informed by specified risk and financial capabilities.
The appointment of Omnicom Group spans the areas of brand, media, digital, public relations, internal communication and sponsorships, across MTNâs functional areas of Marketing, Consumer, Enterprise Business, Digital Services, Corporate Affairs, Human Resources and Investor Relations at a Group level, as well as the companyâs operations.
