Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has spoken out on an incident at the weekend in which a passenger fainted near the immigration counters at Entebbe International Airport, sparking social media condemnation.
The passenger fainted at about 2am on Saturday. According to CAA spokesperson
Vianney Luggya, the social media information that the passenger was neglected was just a bunch of lies.
“As soon as the incident happened, an Aviation Police Officer monitoring the area alerted medical personnel at the Arrivals Health Desk who immediately responded and ably attended to her in less than five minutes,” a CAA statement read in part.
In fact, Luggya adds, the passenger (a woman) thanked CAA for the “prompt response contrary to the exaggerated and inaccurate social media posts”.
