Samples of expensive pens that Bank of Uganda procured for the commemoration of its golden jubilee have been brought before parliament.
Recently, Parliament learnt that the Central Bank had procured 350 pens as souvenirs to mark its Golden Jubilee celebration.
During the August 2016 golden Jubilee celebration, BoU bought the 350 pens at Shs 125m.
This means that each pen cost the tax payers Shs 357,000.
On Tuesday, samples of the pens were presented before the Parliamentary committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (Cosase).
