Desire Luzinda, Juliana Kanyomozi in Bitter Storm over Tycoon Lwasa

Two Ugandan female musicians. One man. A bitter row. These three phrases explain the current war of words between musicians Desire Luzinda and Juliana Kanyomozi, springing from tycoon Emmanuel Lwasa.

It all started, at least in the recent times, after tycoon Lwasa’s selfie aboard a flight also captured Juliana. Isn’t that something like a selfie-error?

Lwasa’s selfie.

But more fireworks sparked off when Lwasa shared the selfie on social media. (wtf, what are selfies for?) Selfies are meant to be shared but the sharing was ‘misconstrued’ to mean that Lwasa and Juliana had travelled for a date to the US.

Juliana then rushed to social media to spit fire at Lwasa, to teach him a ‘tomanyiira’ lesson. The Kibaluma hit maker also threatened to sue Lwasa for invading her privacy.

“I’m not one to come here to rant or respond to rubbish. But this right here is madness.
For starters who is this person? People have been asking me about someone and I was not understanding until someone sent me an article. You can’t come and take a picture of someone simply because they happen to be sitting next to you on plane without their permission, and then go ahead and share it implying that I’m travelling with you. He didn’t even have the courtesy to greet me!!!!! Let alone request to take a picture with or of me. This is infringing on other people’s privacy and I could sue you for it!!!! What the hell is wrong with some people, abantu tebakyalina mpisa???”, wrote Juliana.

In response, rather defence of her man, Desire stung Juliana in a Facebook post: “The older you get, the more quiet you become. Life humbles you so deeply as you age. You realize how much nonsense you’ve wasted time on.”

Through her Instagram, Juliana then responded, generally, to those concerned about her threats on Lwasa.

“I’m a nice person… So if I’m being a B**** to you, ask yourself why.”

The war of words has just started. We wait.
