The name Michelle O Faith might not be a household name on the local music scene but she is a UK-based British musician and commands a sizable following on social media.
She is best known in the world music genre as a vocalist, pianist, songwriter and composer and producer.
Michelle O Faith’s songs include “Lemonade”, “Wasted Youth”, “No Romance in China” and “Sleeping with the Wolves”, among others. She also plays classical and jazz piano.
Michelle, whose mother hails from Uganda is in the country for a charity concert aimed at raising funds for those affected by hunger.
The concert dubbed “A Grain for Teso” is expected to raise funds to purchase and distribute grains to households who have been affected by the prolonged drought that devastated the sub region of Teso
It is scheduled to take place at Silver Springs Hotel in Bugolobi this Friday September 15, 2017.
The concert will feature fast-rising artist Karole Kasita and S&S Band. Platinum tables will go for 5 Million, Silver tables 2 Million while individual tickets cost 100,000.
“I am deeply saddened by the knowledge that the Teso people have been struck so badly by famine. It’s why I’m so passionate about putting on this concert. God said we should use those talents he blesses us with to bless others. So it only seems right that I use my voice and music to help raise money for the Teso people in this harsh time,” she said of the concert.
Michelle O Faith boasts of having had a versatile training in music. Having started playing musical instruments at the tender age of seven, she moved on to learn classical piano and electronic keyboards.
By the time she was nine, she was learning to play drums too and how to use music software, midi technology and CubaseVST, a music software product for music recording.
In 2016, she won the prestigious ‘Women Make Music’ Award by the PRS Foundation.
She has worked with well-known producers like Si Hubert on songs like “Sleep Through The Fire”.
