Dozens of Ugandans based in the UK on Wednesday demonstrated against the deletion article 102b from the constitution to allow three-decade president Yoweri Museveni stand for reelection beyond the age of 75.

The demonstration was held outside the Uganda Embassy at Trafalgar Square,  London and people were seen wearing red bands on their heads as has been with opposition MPs at Parliament in the recent days.

The people also held placards written on “Togikwatako Article 102b”, which means “Do not touch Article 102b”.

The Age Limit Motion was  however finally tabled in Parliament on Wednesday afternoon by Igara West MP Raphael Magyezi after the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga suspended 24 Opposition MPs from the house, with some of them forcefully evicted by security agents.

MP Magyezi was granted leave of parliament to prepare the bill and submit it a first reading in the House.
