One person has been reported dead and four others injured in a fatal accident that occurred along Nebbi – Pakwach Road at Acwera bridge, Acwera village, Acwera Parish, Kwicwing sub county, Nebbi district on Wednesday.
West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson Superintendent of Police Angucia Josephine said the accident involved a bus belonging to Baby Coach company registration number UAS 307M Isuzu and a trailer registration number UAZ 722X/UAY 699D Renault Red in colour which occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
Angucia said the driver died on spot and was identified as Turyatunga Brown, 48yrs, a resident of Isingiro district and his body was taken to Nebbi hospital mortuary for postmortem.
The four passengers injured have been identified as AIP Onegiu Richard, Police officer attached to Kole Police Station, Lituka Tabu Jang, Congolese, Resident of Kasangati, Kabuye Frank Ddachi,Muganda by tribe, Resident of Kayunga district, and Okello Geofrey, Alur, resident of Paidha in Zombo district.
All the four injured passengers are being admitted at Nebbi General Hospital.
The bus was heading to Kampala from Paidha when it had a head on collision with the side of the trailer. She added that police is looking for the driver of the trailer who is on run.
