At least four people including a Sudanese trader were shot dead and three others injured on Monday morning when a commercial vehicle they were traveling in was ambushed along the Amiet-Mayom road in Northern Liech State.

William Dak Koch, Bul East County commissioner reportedly told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that the vehicle which was also loaded with goods was travelling from Amiet market in Abyei region to Mayom town.

Dak said the three wounded were brought to Mayom Hospital on Monday and two who had serious injuries were transferred to MSF clinic for further treatment in Agok.

Meanwhile, the body of the Sudanese trader will be transported to Abyei for burial. The other three who hail from Bul East were buried where the incident happened.

Commissioner Dak further accused the Arab Misseriya youth from Sudan of being behind the attack.
