Entrepreneur-philanthropist Rajiv contributes Millions to People With Disabilities at RCDA charity event

Organized by the Rena community development association, was a sports charity event to mark the annual skills expo on Thursday August 30 at Mengo secondary school, lubaga division.

Under the theme “To support PWDs towards achieving self-reliance and better livelihoods”, the event was attended by a number of dignitaries including Mr Katimbo Lawrence President of the Amptics Soccer Federation, Mr Mandera Amos the councilor for PWDs in Kawempe and philanthropist also acting as the the managing Director of Crane Management Services, a subsidiary of Ruparelia group Mr. Rajiv Ruparelia.

Speaking as Guest of Honor, Mr Rajiv, showed gratitude to the organizing committee members for a prompt reaction in displaying great concern about providing and upholding equality among people with disabilities to help them achieve their dreams through talent.

At the same event, Rajiv would later remind the PWDs that disability is not inability and he funded their budget with a 60% upfront contribution to enable members to improve their standards of living and benefit from their association.  He also asked the ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development to invest more in the creation of skill-based platforms to enhance sustainable development and cater for PWDs.

The philanthropist gave out a number of items to PWDs including but not limited to the following; crutches, walking frames and wheel chairs.
