President Yoweri Museveni has Tuesday afternoon paid a visit to Kansai Plascon plant in Namanve, hours after the company unveiled an Anti-Mosquito Paint.
The President who was welcomed to the plant by the company’s global leadership team including Chief Executive Officer and President Hiroshi Ishino was led on a tour of the plant by the officials.
The visit comes following the unveiling of the world’s first anti-mosquito paint on the Ugandan market on Tuesday morning.
Plascon officials said the paint was unveiled to compliment government’s efforts of achieving a malaria free Uganda by 2021.
It is powered by a unique mosquito knock down technology which disrupts the mosquito’s nervous system on contact.
The technology reduces the mosquito’s ability to remain on painted walls or to fly too far away, resulting in it being knocked down.
The company further revealed that as part of their roll out campaign, they will donate the paint to some underprivileged communities to help them fight malaria.
By publication time, Museveni was still holding a meeting with Plascon officials at the plant.
