President Yoweri Museveni on Friday morning visited Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga at Nakasero hospital in Kampala, where she was admitted on Thursday.

Speaker Kadaga was rushed to Nakasero hospital on Thursday in critical condition.

The 62-year-old lawmaker had just returned from New York where she attended the 63rd session of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations headquarters.

The Speaker’s Principal Assistant Press Secretary, Sam Obbo, in a Friday statement said Kadaga is being “managed” by doctors at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala over “fatigue-related illness”.

“She was admitted yesterday soon after her return from the hectic working tour to Morocco and the United States of America,” read the statement in part.

“Due to the hectic work schedule, fatigue and jet-lag, she has had to be admitted in hospital.”

Obbo also appealed for the respect of Kadaga’s privacy during the period she is in hospital.
