The body of the late Amirali Karmali popularly known as Mukwano who passed away on Wednesday due to illness has been laid to rest at the Muslim cemetery in Kololo.
Several mourners who despite the rainy morning, joined in the viewing of the late businessman’s remains at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds to pay their last respects to a man whose name has become a household item in Uganda.
Vice president Edward Kiwanuka Sekandi, Attorney General William Byaruhanga and businessman Patrick Bitature their pay last respects to Karmali at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.
In a condolence message read for him by the Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi on Saturday morning described Karmali as a true patriot who made a big contribution to the economy.
He said that Karmali was a man of action and regretted that he died at the time when the country needed his expertise
The function at Kololo that preceded the burial was attended by several the government officials, those of Tooro Kingdom where Karmali had several enterprises, representatives of diplomatic missions, business persons and staff of Mukwano enterprises
