A few days into July, Infinix Mobility launched their flagship device in Note Smartphone series, the Note 6 with a promise of Augmented Reality support and lots of improvements as compared to the Note 5 stylus which was the lead.
“We are moving from being just a smartphone company to bringing the high technology to everyone at affordable prices and the pretty cool NOTE6 is the beginning of greater innovation,” Ms Gladys Liu the Infinix Uganda Marketing Manager said during the launch.
Its days after launch and I have received the device anxious to strip it and explore all the new tech and innovations that the company has promised.
I will be publishing my review of this device at the end of July 2019 after full usage and discovery, but for now, I performed a quick unboxing which I will take you through.

Unboxing
Opening the box, you will find the 6-inch monster lying face-up on top of the box. I got a black colour but the device according to Infinix officials comes in three variants; black, blue and champagne gold.
Below the phone is an envelope which houses an X-Club Card, simcard plate remover and a user manual. You will also get a screen protector and a classy shock absorbing jacket.
In the bottom compartment of the box, you get a quick charger, a micro USB cable and a pair of earphones.
Look and feel
On the front, you have a 6 inch full HD+ Amoled display screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 and 18:9 Aspect Ration (403PPI)
On top of the display, you have a 16MP front camera with a single flash, a front speaker and a notifications indicator.
On the back, you have a 16MP primary camera, an 8MP wide angle lens, a 2MP camera for depth sensing and a dual flash just adjacent to the lenses.
You also get a finger print sensor towards the middle, just on top of the infinix brand name.
On the left, you have a sim card tray that houses two 4G LTE nano simcards and a micro SD card.
On the right, you have a power button and a volume locker.
There is nothing at the top of the device. At the bottom, you have the X-Pen, speaker, micro-USB port, microphone and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Note 6, compared to its predecessors is notably light.
There is a very big deviation from a Note 5 which had a single camera to now 3 cameras on the Note 6.
I will be using the device up to the end of the month, look out for a full review.
