President Yoweri Museveni has for the umpteenth time said that he is rich. Museveni relayed his financial weight to a mammoth gathering of people who turned up for the Anti-Corruption walk which the president led himself on Wednesday.
The 3.5Km walk commenced early in the morning from the Constitutional Square in Kampala to the Kololo Independence Grounds. The walk was organized by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit.
Museveni said he is rich yet he has never stolen any money from anyone. He was responding to Jacob Oulanyah’s statement who challenged anyone in the audience to cast a stone if he/she has never been corrupt.
The President said he would throw the first stone. He urged Ugandans and leaders present to desist from corruption.
In 2015 the Africa Review compiled salaries of African leaders and President Museveni appeared among the least paid Presidents.
In spite of his meagre salary Museveni says he has acquired his wealth through saving and farming.
