There was a cloud of fear on Sunday after a private boat, MV Vanessa got stuck in the middle of lake Victoria while heading to Lutoboka.

The boat is said to have ran out of fuel causing panic among the passengers.

Although it was later refueled, police has the managers of the boat , to explain circumstances under which the water vessel ran out of fuel.

“We have summoned the boat captain to record statements upon what exactly happened and why he had opted to set sail without enough fuel,” said Deputy Kampala Metropolitan police 

spokesperson Luke Oweyesigire.

The boat was refueled by the Police Marine Unit after a distress call from Lake Victoria.
