Nuns at the convent of the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa in Bunawaya were women and raided by machete wielding men on Monday making off with some valuables.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire the thugs raided the convent at 2 am on Monday and went through the various offices, stealing cash and two laptops.
Owesigyire says that none of the nuns was hurt.
The police is hunting for the thugs after studying the crime scene and recording statements from nuns. Police was only alerted way later after the thugs had gone.
The convent, located at Gobi B zone is under the Katwe Policing Division superintended by Kampala South region.
