President Museveni has promised to improve the declining relations between Uganda and its neighbour Rwanda. The relationship between the two countries has been deteriorating. And this led to the closure of the Uganda Katuna border post by Rwanda. The border remains closed to date. Museveni recently sent a special message to Kagame through Amb Adonia Ayebare.

In his New Year message said Museveni said that Ambassador Ayebare was well received by Rwanda’s president Paul Kagame and that they had very fruitful discussions.

The Ugandan President said that the tensions are going to be ended.

” Uganda can guarantee, will do its share of the normalization of the relations between our two countries. I salute  H.E Kagame, the brotherly people of Rwanda and the people of Uganda.”
