Last week, the NRM party spokesperson Roger Mulindwa said they had invited Amama Mbazazi to their delegates’ conference at Namboole at the weekend. Mbabazi was, however, absent at the conference and did not offer any explanation.

There has been speculation that Mbabazi could return to the NRM party where he formerly held the position of Secretary-General.

The invitation to the conference was a signal to many that he was back to good terms with the NRM.

The NRM invited several members of the opposition. Many did not turn up.
