Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has nominated Makerere University councillor, Doreen Nyanjura to represent the party in the race for the election of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) speaker.
The elections will happen on March 5. The position of KCCA speaker came into force in 2019 through the KCCA Act 2020.
FDC nominated Sabuka Doreen for the KCCA Deputy Speaker, Nakitende Sharifah for Lubaga Division Speaker, Asiimwe Robert Nakawa Division Deputy Speaker and Mpiima Henry for Lubaga Division Deputy Speaker.
The speaker will preside over council meetings a role initially played by the Lord Mayor under the old law.
