Health Ministry Quarantines Four Foreign Nationals Over Coronavirus Fears

Four foreign nationals have been put in isolation by the ministry of health over fears of coronavirus. According to a statement by the ministry, the four were picked from Entebbe International Airport after presenting with symptoms of flu and cough.

“Samples have been collected and are currently being tested at Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI). Results will be communicated to the public accordingly,” reads the statement in part.

The Ministry says no coronavirus case has been detected in Uganda as yet contrary to reports that have been circulating on social media.

The ministry has appealed to Ugandans to keep calm.

Last week, the President advised Ugandans to stop hugging and shaking hands unnecessarily as it is a preventive measure
