President Yoweri Museveni will Wednesday announce the closure of all schools in the country as the Corona Virus scare hits Uganda.
This was revealed by retired journalist and Museveni confidant Andrew Mwenda in a tweet on Tuesday evening.
“President Museveni will call a press conference tomorrow to announce the closure of schools, ban on weddings, funerals, sports events, bars and restaurants,” Mwenda tweeted.
“Watch out for panic shopping; we shall soon be prisoners in our homes! I am leaving for Kanyandahi,” he added.
Uganda is one of the few African states that have not registered any case of Corona Virus.
Neighbours Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo have been hit by the pandemic and have been put on lockdown.
Meanwhile, Uganda remains on high alert.
