Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to allow Eddy Kenzo return from Ivory Coast (Cote d’Ivoire) where he has been stuck for months.
Kadaga revealed in a post that she had received a phone call from Eddie Kenzo and that the singer explained to her that how he is in dire straits and has spent whatever he had. “He’s unable to come home because flights are not available.I would like to call upon the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, working through our Mission in Abuja, to offer him consular services so that he can be assisted to come home; and to also meet his bills,” Kadaga wrote on her social platforms.
“I will also be informing H.E. the President about this matter so that he can be assisted. For him its even worse because he is in a French speaking country. Life is not as easy as it would be if he was in an English-speaking country where he could talk with people and get assistance,” she added.
Kenzo has for a long time been pleading to be allowed to return home.
The Ministry of Health said on Monday that Ugandans abroad would be allowed to return as long as they are going to meet thei quarantine and flight bills.
