Ministry of Health has confirmed 40 more cases of Coronavirus from samples tested on Sunday May 31st raising the total confirmed cases in the country to 457.
This was revealed in a press statement issued on Monday afternoon via the Ministry’s Twitter Account.
According to the statement, 23 of the 40 cases are from the country’s border points while the other 17 were confirmed from samples of contacts and alerts.
With the new result, Uganda remains the fourth East African Country with the highest number of confirmed Covid 19 cases.
Kenya takes the lead with 1962 cases followed by South Sudan with 994 and Tanzania with 509 making the top half.
The other half is headed by Uganda in fourth place with 457 cases, Rwanda in fifth place with 370 and Burundi with only 63 cases.
Later in the day, President Yoweri Museveni will address the country to highlight more measures and issue more guidelines to prevent against further spread of the virus.
