Boda boda operators and the police have been playing cat and mouse games this morning in the city centre following a directive from the government to restrict bodas from operating in the city.
In guidelines issued by the Kampala Capital City Authority on Sunday, boda bodas were prohibited from operating from the following streets;Wampewo Roundabout- Jinja Road to Kitgum House junction – Access Road – Mukwano Road to Clock Tower –Kafumbe Mukasa Road –Kisenyi Road –Mackay Road- Kyaggwe Road- Watoto Church-Bombo Road – Wandegeya – Hajji Musa Kasule Road- Mulago roundabout- Kamwokya junction – Sturrock Road – Prince Charles Drive- Lugogo Bypass–Jinja Road- Wampewo Roundabout.
There were several roadblocks planted on the respective streets, but after a call from above, the blocks have been removed. It is not yet known how long the suspension of the ban will last. There is no official statement yet regarding this matter.
