The Uganda Rugby Union has declared Hima Cement Heathens as the champions of the Nile Special Stout Rugby Premier league for the 2020/2021 season.
The decision followed a meeting by the Union’s Executive Committee members held on Wednesday September 30th where they agreed to end the league prematurely.
The Rugby league was put on a halt in March following the outbreak of the Covid19 pandemic in the country.
Prior to the halt, all teams in the league had played an equal number of games which guided the Executive Committee to declare the league leaders as the champions.
Also as part of the resolutions made by the committee, no teams will be relegated from the top flight light and noe will be promoted.
The Tower Post understands that the league will start afresh on Saturday January 23rd 2021.
