Vision Group CEO Robert Kabushenga is set to leave Uganda’s biggest government owned media and publication house, The Tower Post has learnt.
An email from Kabushenga to all Vision Group Staff members which has been seen by this website says that Kabushenga will be leading a transition for the next 90 days after which he will vacate his office.
“This is to let you know that I have asked the board for an early retirement and this has been accepted. However, the board has asked me to manage the transition for the next 90 days which I have accepted,” his email reads in part.
Kabushenga has been at the helm of Vision Group for close 14 years since his appointment in October 2006 and over time, he has seen tremendous changes in the Vision Group which now boasts of a number of TV stations, Radio stations, online news outlets, News Papers among other products.
“I am proud of the success we have achieved and the impact we have had in society. This was possible because we worked together as a team. No single person could have done it on their own, certainly not me.”
“I have always said to you that everyone in their life should have a privilege of working with people like you. I had great time doing that and for me, it was a great honor.”
Who is Kabushenga?
Kabushenga is a holder of a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala.
He is an advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a member of the Uganda and East Africa Law Societies.
Prior to joining Vision Group, Kabushenga worked as Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre, Company Secretary and Legal Officer of this company as well as Legal and Administration Officer of the Monitor Publications Ltd.
He is a Fellow of the Africa Leadership Initiative-East Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
