Former Uganda Journalists Association – UJA President Robert Kagolo has been shot dead, The Tower Post reports.

Kagolo who has been working with local radio station Star FM, one of the radio stations owned under the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation was killed on Thursday evening.

According to Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire, Kagolo was gunned down at his late brother’s place in Kasengeje, Wakiso district.

“Kagolo is dead but he was not assassinated by unknown gunmen as social media reports earlier claimed,” Owoyesgire is quoted as having said.

“He was shot after a scuffle with an LDU.”
