Seasoned radio personality Marcus Kwikiriza has moved on from his job as Next Radion General manager, The Tower Post reports.
The development comes a week after Next Media Services announced that the station was taking a different direction to realign their programming and staffers.
“Following my recent communication regarding the realignment of Next Radio, Mr Marcus Kwikiriza shall now focus as the group Head of Strategic Business in line with the growth plans of the strategic business desk,” Kariisa said.
“The realignment is effective immediately, and management shall make further communication regarding Next Radio changes in due course. We urge all transformers to support the teams in their respective responsibilities as we strive to be the leading multimedia group for East Africa,” he added.
Kariisa has taken centre stage, keeping the Next Media staff informed on the developments around Next Radio.
Marcus Kwikiriza came out of retirement to become General Manager of Next Radio, launched in 2018. He started by hosting the Morning Zoo with Karitas. In 2021, Marcus announced his resignation from radio to focus on his General Manager role and take up his new role as Head of Strategic Business Next Media Services. He now continues at the Next Media Park in only his latter role and as a presenter on NBS Television’s “Another Round.”
Under his leadership, Next Radio hit tremendous milestones, including getting a channel on DSTV, Channel 898, and the latest one being the MTN Pulse Radio, where they host MTN’s youthful radio station.
