Fred Enanga Promoted to Senior Commissioner of Police

Police head of Public Relations Fred Enanga has been promoted to Senior Commissioner of Police, The Tower Post reports.

Enanga who has been at the rank of Commissioner of Police was promoted alongside 772 other officers in the recent promotions by the Commander in Chief, President Yoweri Museveni.

His new rank is the fourth highest in the police force. The other ranks on top include Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) and Inspector General of Police (IGP).

Enanga joined the Police Force in 2001 after graduating with a bachelors degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University.

He has served in different positions within the Police Force and is serving as the Force’s spokesperson for the second time after being brought back in 2019.

On Heroes Day, Enanga was among the 81 people awarded the golden jubilee medal.

In other promotions,

The promotions, five Senior Commissioners of Police including Richard Edyegu , Charles Birungi Ruhuma, James Ocaya, John Nuwagira and  Fadhil Kaali Ali were promoted to the next rank of AIGP.

These have been serving as directors or heads of directorates  but in acting capacity for many months  since they were not yet at the rank of AIGP that all directors must be at in order to be confirmed  in their respective positions.

Nine Commissioners of Police including Enanga were promoted to the next rank of Senior Commissioner of Police.

Others are Lawrence Niwabiine, the Traffic Police Director, Moses Kafeero, the former KMP commander, Hadija Namutebi, Felix Baryamwisaki, James Apora, Timothy Halango and the acting ICT director, Yusuf Ssewanyana.
