Kigezi Homeboyz FC have been promoted to the FUFA Big League following their 2-1 win over Buhimba United Saints in the Big league playoff second leg meeting on Wednesday.
The Gorillas, who had picked a 1-0 in the first leg, advanced 3-1 on aggregate in playoffs final.
And on wednesday, goals from Kaija Sunny and Waibi Charles were enough as they earned promotion back to the Big League.
It was a historical day for Kigezi Homboys, who were also the Western Regional champions.
They were unlucky last season as they lost on penalities 4-3 to Kaaro Karungi FC in the Fufa Big league play off finals, in a game played in June last year at Kyamate grounds.
And they now return to the Big League, ever since 2021 when they were relegated to the third tier division after the end of the regular 2021 Big league season.
Veteran Cranes midfielder Patrick Ochan has been part of Kigezi Homboys winning team, ever since joining them in 2022 as a player and a coach player as well.
Kigezi now join Mbale Hereos and Kiyinda Boys FC as the other teams, who have already joined the Big League next season.
