Ministry of ICT Commends Next Com and Wowzi for Next Wowzi Platform

Dr. Amina Zawedde, the Permanent Secretary to the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, cast a spotlight on the Ministry’s significant contribution to this transformative endeavor.

Dr. Zawedde outlined the core essence of the Digital Transformation Framework, which the Ministry launched on 17 August 2023, highlighting its five potent pillars that seamlessly intertwined with Next Wowzi’s vision. This dynamic framework encapsulated infrastructure amplification, digital service innovation, fortifying cybersecurity, and data protection, nurturing skillsets, and embracing innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Permanent Secretary’s resonant message stressed the imperative of continuous upskilling and embracing expansive horizons to drive transformative evolution.

The driving force behind the Digital Transformation Roadmap converged naturally with Next Wowzi’s bold trajectory. The launch event served as a rallying call to action, marking the commencement of tangible steps toward Uganda’s digital transformation.

Dr. Zawedde’s belief that Next Wowzi’s vision of creating 1.5 million jobs could be realized within a year was underscored by the pressing concern of youth unemployment. With Next Wowzi at the forefront, she envisioned a landscape where the burgeoning youth demographic could seize meaningful, impactful employment opportunities.

The partnership between the government and private sector, especially Next Wowzi, was a testament to collective action and transformative potential.

Dr. Zawedde urged collaboration between the government and the private sector, a harmonious convergence that could herald actual change. As Next Wowzi embarked on its journey in Uganda, it did so in sync with the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance’s vision of empowerment and transformation.
