City Tycoon and business man Al haji Hassan Bassajabalaba has called for women emancipation for those dealing in business.
Bassajabalaba who was speaking at a fundraising gala in Kansanga central market highlighted the need to involve women in business roles saying; “Women should not only stay home and execute chores at home but should also engage in different business like retail and wholesale in order to champion financial freedom.”
The renowned businessman also cautioned those that marginalize women who try their level best to earn a penny, arguing that the business community is for all but not for specific groups.
“Our mothers of this nation should be given space to earn a living but not push them away or portray different harsh working conditions for them,” he said.
In recent years, Uganda has experienced a transformative movement towards empowering women and fostering gender equality. But breaking through societal barriers, Ugandan women have defied traditional gender roles and emerged as powerful agents of change in the sector.
