South Sudan: Kiir Revokes Appointment of Several SPLA-IO Lawmakers in Lakes State

South Sudan President Salva Kiir on Wednesday replaced Gen. David Yau Yau in the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA) and revoked the appointment of several SPLM-IO lawmakers from Lakes State in national and state parliaments.

From the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA), Jakor Beyo was named to replace David Yau Yau and Nyiguok Bodok replaced Charles Welo Onyoch.

In the TNLA, Kiir revoked the appointments of SPLM-IO members of the TNLA namely; Poth Mading Madit Dut, John Sebit Madit, William Manyiel Woi, and Akuc Majier Manyiel.

He replaced them with Dier Monyanyon Dier, Julis Madit Maker, and Sonia Idris.

In the Lakes State cabinet, Kiir relived, Philip Taban Kiir, Minister for Cooperative and Rural Development, Abraham Ater Mabor, Minister of Animal Resources, Fisheries and Tourism, Beny Matur Mathiang, Minister for Peace Building, Akum Ngor Chairperson Employees Justice Chamber, Malok Bol, Chairperson Human Rights Commission, Lat Mathiang Bol, Deputy Chairperson Anticorruption commission, Adum Achol Geu, Deputy Chairperson Relief and Rehabilitation Commission and Samuel Majang Adomic, Member, Peace, Reconciliation, and Conflict Resolution.

The president then appointed Isaac Lukak, Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development, Samuel Gai Magok, Minister for Animal Resources, Fisheries, and Tourism, Nyanagok Malou, Minister for Peace Building, Majong Maluong, Chairperson of Employees Justice Chamber, Mahok Malual, Chairperson Human Rights Commission, Dut Mabor, Deputy Chairperson, Anticorruption Commission, Samuel Makur, Deputy Chairperson Relief and Rehabilitation Commission and Ater Abwon Thoc, Member Peace, Reconciliation and Conflict Resolution Commission.

In the Lakes State Parliament, Kiir annulled the appointments of Martha Alwoth Maria, Zacharia Maker Mabor, Abraham Wandeg Majak, Mary Nyanbuot Duoldit, Gabriel Wadeng Mabiech, Mary Athiei Paul, Samuel Dut Madit, Alabut Mabuok, Samuel Gai Magok, Augustino Makur Jok, Priscilla Abeny Tonj, Mathiet Majak, Makuei Makuei, Rebecca Ajuot Majier, John Bech, and Sebit Kenyi.

He replaced the officials with, Wande Malok, Gabriel Mathiang Buoch, John Manyang Agur, Priscilla Yok Mel, Mabor Kau Dut, Adut Wech Nyien, Andrew Kol Nyeng Majak, Nyangai Gatkuoth Chuol, Makuer Malula Kuc, Lual Madit, Elizabeth Stephen, Majong Athuel, Apieth Amum, Elizabeth Ayen Machot, Ruben Mabor, and John Akoro.

Kiir did not give reasons for the changes although it follows the massive defection of officials from the SPLM-IO to the SPLM Party in Lakes State.
