South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir announced on Friday the revocation of the appointment of three lawmakers from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement In-Opposition (SPLM-IO) in the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA).
The decree, read on state-run television, pertains to Somaya Sallah Iddris from Lakes State, Moses Malek Chol from Upper Nile State, and Juma Loden Korok from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area.
In another decree, President Salva Kiir appointed Eng. William Manyein Nyang Martin from Lakes State and Gok Lual Banyker from Upper Nile State to replace the officials whose memberships in the Transitional National Legislative Assembly were revoked.
Additionally, he appointed Juma Loden Korok from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area to the Upper House of Parliament, the Council of States.
Furthermore, Kiir dismissed Eddy Okele, the Minister of Trade and Industry in Western Equatoria State, who represented the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA), and replaced him with Heim Isaiah Paul.
The decree did not provide reasons for these changes.
