During his tour in Kansanga, prominent businessman and proprietor of Kampala International University Hassan Bassajabalaba has pledged to support health facilities mostly focusing on maternal health care.
While touring around health facilities in the region Bassajabalaba said the increasing rate of maternal mortality has raised questions on what this means for region.
“My main reason for the tour is to check the current situation in the area, the high rate of maternal mortality is alarming; we need to save the mothers of the nation” Bassajabalaba said.
During his tour he pledged to provide different equipment needed for proper treatment of pregnant mothers which include fetal stethoscope, baby scale among others.
“Before the month ends, I will provide different equipment’s to various clinics and hospitals and clinics to help on reducing the high maternal mortality rates in our region.”
During the tour Bassajabalaba expressed dissatisfaction with the nurses who leave operations and patients unattended to.
Pregnancy and childbirth complications have been one of the highest killers of women of reproductive age with many die due to lack of professional equipment’s in different hospitals in the region.
