MTN Uganda has unveiled the official Uganda Cranes Cheerleaders as part of the “Tulage Faaya” campaign. This initiative marks a significant milestone in MTN’s continuous support for Ugandan football, aiming to galvanize fans and foster a spirited and united support system for the national teams. Additionally, MTN Uganda has presented the Uganda Cranes football calendar for the remainder of 2024.
The “Tulage Faaya” campaign was launched in late May with the objective of finding the top cheerleading teams that would lead the nation’s support for the Uganda Cranes. The campaign called on passionate football fans to form teams and create cheerleading skits that showcased their energy and creativity. The campaign ran for over a month, gaining substantial media support across TV, radio, and social media.
The response was overwhelming, with nine teams participating and more than 160,000 votes cast via the MTN Sports site (www.sports.mtn.co.ug) and USSD (*100*65#). The voting period concluded on June 28th, and today MTN Uganda unveiled the top three cheerleading teams as voted by the public.
Unveiling the Top Three Cheerleading Teams:
- Winner: Uncle Money
- Votes: 44,464
- Prize: Ush 5,000,000 and the honor of leading the Uganda Cranes cheerleading efforts.
- 1st Runner Up: Team Dressers
- Votes: 38,286
- Prize: Ush 5,000,000 and the privilege of being part of the official cheerleading squad.
- 2nd Runner Up: Kamodo
- Votes: 25,234
- Prize: Ush 5,000,000 and the esteemed role of cheerleading for the Uganda Cranes.
Each of these top three teams will receive Ush 5,000,000 and the prestigious opportunity to lead the nation’s cheering efforts for the Uganda Cranes at their upcoming AFCON qualifiers.
Additionally, these teams will be granted renewable one-year cheerleading contracts for both the Uganda Cranes and the Crested Cranes, covering home and away games. They will also receive performance allowances and facilitation based on briefs commissioned by MTN Uganda.
As the football season approaches, here are the fixtures for the Uganda Cranes for the remainder of 2024:

- Dates: 1st – 10th September 2024
- October 2024 Fixtures:
- Matchday 3: South Sudan [Home]
- Matchday 4: South Sudan [Away]
- Dates: 7th – 15th October 2024
- November 2024 Fixtures:
- Matchday 5: South Africa [Home]
- Matchday 6: Congo [Away]
- Dates: 11th – 19th November 2024
