South Sudan: Three Cattle Traders Injured in Bor Ambush

Three cattle traders were injured at the weekend after they were waylaid between Twic East and Bor County’s Jalle Payam.

Bor County Commissioner Samuel Gai Makoor told Radio Tamazuj that those injured were evacuated to the Bor State Hospital.

Reports indicated that the three sustained gunshot wounds while several cattle were stolen.

No one claimed responsibility for the attack, but Bor authorities accused youth from the neighboring Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) of involvement.

“Three people were injured by Murle assailants and they are now being treated at Bor Hospital. This is the first such incident since May and we are coordinating with our GPAA counterparts to foster security,” Makoor said.

“Details of cattle raided remain scanty as other traders were still on their way to Bor town. Those traders were coming from Yuai town in Uror County to sell their cows in Bor when they were attacked midway,” he added.
