Navio Responds to A Pass for Calling Ugandan Musicians Mediocres

Ugandan rapper Navio, born Daniel Lubwama Kigozi, has responded to recent remarks by singer A Pass, who claimed that most Ugandan musicians are mediocre and fail to invest enough time in their craft.

Navio firmly disagreed with A Pass’s statement, asserting that Ugandan artists are not only talented but also highly dedicated to their work.

He explained that in every music industry, there are artists who meticulously craft their songs and others, like freestyle rappers, who create music on the fly.

Navio emphasized that both approaches hold value and contribute to the richness of the art form.

He also stated that Ugandan musicians are more than capable of competing with the best on the African continent.

Using HipHop as an example, Navio highlighted that Ugandan rappers like BigTril, Tucker HD, and himself are fully capable of standing toe-to-toe with any rapper in Africa.

“I would never call Ugandan musicians mediocre. Instead, I’d say, pick an artist from anywhere on the continent, pit them against one of our best, and see if they can hold their own,” said Navio.
