Lil Pazo Defends Performing at NRM Events: ‘Music is My Job, Not Politics

Singer Lil Pazo has declared that he will perform at any event, including those organized by the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), as long as he is paid, despite his affiliation with the National Unity Platform (NUP).

Lil Pazo, known for publicly expressing admiration for NUP leader Bobi Wine and supporting his political ideals, recently faced backlash from his NUP-aligned fans. The criticism came after he performed at an event hosted by NRM Chief Mobilizer Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo in Mubende.

Addressing the controversy during a TikTok live broadcast, Lil Pazo defended his decision, emphasizing that his focus remains on his music career rather than political allegiances.

“Music is a job; that’s what people have failed to realize. I will continue to perform as long as I am paid. Where in Uganda do you find shops that sell to only one political party? Singing is the same thing,” he explained.

The singer’s remarks have sparked debate among fans, with some supporting his pragmatic approach while others view it as a betrayal of his political alignment.
