Mezo Noir Closes Business Following The Death Of A Customer

Mezo Noir, a popular nightclub in the upscale Kololo suburb, has temporarily closed following the tragic death of a customer named Martha.

Martha reportedly collapsed on Wednesday night after ingesting an alcoholic beverage suspected to have been tampered with by one of the club’s staff members. Hours later, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

In a statement posted on their social media platforms, the nightclub’s management announced the temporary closure, citing “unforeseen circumstances.”

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mezo Noir Kampala will be temporarily closed to the public, effective immediately, until further notice. We appreciate your understanding and regret any inconvenience this may have caused. Notification of the reopening date will be issued in due course,” the statement read.

Sources indicate that CCTV footage obtained by authorities allegedly shows Martha entering the club’s office with a man identified as Eddie, the brother of Mezo Noir’s owner.

Moments later, Eddie was seen leaving the office in a panic before returning with others. Instead of calling for immediate medical help, the group reportedly used the club’s exit door to transport Martha to the hospital, where she was later declared dead.

Authorities have since arrested the nightclub’s owner, Grace, her brother Eddie, and several staff members to assist with the ongoing investigation. However, police are yet to release an official statement on the matter.
