“Floods Are Caused By Poor Ruling Government” Bobi Wine

The National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu known to many as Bobi Wine has said that the recent floods in Kampala are caused by the poor ruling government and they lack good planning.

The floods that claimed many lives last week and also destroyed many properties leaving many Ugandans asking themselves what next.

Addressing the issue, Bobi Wine blamed the government’s response to disasters, saying that the office of President Museveni failed to prioritize the lives of Ugandans

“The government of Mr. Museveni clearly doesn’t care about its people,” Kyagulanyi stated.

“This is not the first disaster caused by negligence. Recently, we saw how garbage heaps in Kiteezi collapsed and claimed lives, yet the authorities have remained silent. Now, we are witnessing more deaths and destruction due to floods, but the leadership continues to ignore the suffering of the people.”

Kyagulanyi further asserted that only the NUP, with its people-centered ideology, has the capacity to transform the country by prioritizing the needs of ordinary citizens.

He called for a total overhaul of leadership at all levels, urging Ugandans to support the opposition’s vision for a better Uganda.

“We need to change the leadership of this country, starting from the grassroots to the highest levels,” he said. “If we are given the opportunity to lead, we can bring real change and ensure that Ugandans no longer suffer due to preventable disasters.”

The recent floods have reignited discussions on the state of infrastructure and urban planning in Kampala, with critics accusing KCCA of neglecting key sectors such as drainage and waste management.
