Nation Media Group (NMG) has appointed Flavia Tumusiime as the new head of broadcast, a position that will see her oversee its television and radio stations, including Dembe FM, Spark TV, KFM, and NTV Uganda, according to reports.
The 36-year-old, who currently hosts Capital 91.3 FM’s Desert Island Discs, reportedly pursued the role after NMG decided to scrap the General Manager TV position, previously held by Johnson Omollo, who left the company.
In its place, NMG created the new position of Head of Broadcast.
Flavia joins the company during a time when it has lost several key presenters and is working to revitalise Dembe FM, which had been temporarily closed.
Flavia started her media career as a TV host on WBS TV at just 14 years old, where she hosted Teen’s Club. At 18, she moved into radio, beginning with Hot100FM before joining Capital Radio in 2006. After two to three years in radio, Tumusiime moved to Channel O, where she worked for around four years.
