Lillian Mbabazi Reflects On Her Early Days With Blu*3

Musician Lillian Mbabazi has reflected on her early experiences as a member of Blu*3 at the start of her music career.

She fondly recalled one of her most memorable moments—performing on an international stage during the AFCON finals in Ghana in the early 2000s.

The “Vitamin” singer said the experience keeps replaying in her mind, especially because it marked the beginning of many great opportunities. She vividly remembers sharing the stage with African music legends, including 2Face Idibia, who was then riding high on the success of his timeless hit “African Queen.”

“I think one of the best moments I remember was performing at the opening ceremony of the AFCON finals in Ghana,” Lillian said. “We were on stage with 2Face. He was performing ‘African Queen’ at the time. Blu*3 was one of the opening acts—it was wild. That’s also when I met all those footballers. It was so nice.”

She added that the experience was not only exciting but also opened doors to many opportunities in their music careers.
