Chairman Nyanzi Ssentamu has urged his son, Ssentamu Churchill Jame, the 91st Guild President of Makerere University, to apologize to Ugandans following his involvement with the president of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Yesterday photos made rounds on social media, depicting Ssentamu Churchill rubbing shoulders with President Museveni during the just-concluded Science Expo.
The photos, however, left a section of Ugandans with a sour taste in their mouth, specifically those affiliated with the opposition.
In a video making rounds on social media, Chairman Nyanzi criticized his son’s action, revealing that it was a mistake made that needs to be rectified with immediate effect.
Chairman Nyanzi urged his son to publicly apologize to Ugandans or resign and concentrate on his books rather than making such mistakes.
He further stressed that Churchill could have based his decision on the denial of the NUP card and his independent candidacy for the Makerere University guild presidency.
However, he should take into account his background as a member of the Ssentamu family, which has a strained relationship with the ruling party.
